The Family Joy's life savings was greatly reduced.
Alan Greenspan declared this the worst economy ever seen.
He gave me a conspiratorial look and said,
The Family Joy quaked in fear.
There was no sign of the bottom.
"What will happen next?" we asked. How far will we fall?"
Then it rained endlessly.
Great walls of sheeting rain pounded our city all day.
In the evening, The Mayor came home from school and said,
"Mommy, I have a secret, private name. Do you know what it is?"
"No, Mayor," I said. "What is it?"
"NOAH."
[Oh, The IRONY.]

Can he give me a ride? Cause we're drowning over here. (my big guy lost his job last month... your little fella is just in time...)
I see foreshadowing to the millions he will make as an adult to pay for your retirement. And they all lived happily ever after.
He's so clever. How can you stand it?
Awesome.
Us, too. Glum times. Is the Mayor in on the know? Any suggestions? Should I plant a garden and buy a goat?
I don't remember how I happened to find your blog, but tonight I read a bunch of past posts. Woman, you are weird.
I say that because I am a park ranger. yeah, I wear the whole dang uniform and the hat to work every day. hahahahaha
The timing. The wisdom. The foresight.
The humor . . .
Have you helped him secure the necessary materials?
I got a statement today on my IRA. I can now buy a dozen Super Big Gulps at 7-11.
Brilliant.
Now I am curious about how many Park Rangers are reading your blog.
Does he know what a cubit is?
Mayor rocks proverbial socks with a tenacity unforeseen by Noahkind
My stocks are reduced to a third.
Loved this post! Very smart.
Ironically husband is working more than ever. (Course the government hires him that could explain it.)
And yet...we are more broke than ever.
Time to for a life adjustment.
Come on over and join Bossy's Poverty Party! Where climbing out of debt is fun! Not that *you're* in debt, but weeeeeeee, Bossy is!
*snort* I'm with vodka mom - I need a ride, too!
I think we have all had enough of Mr. Greenspan to last a lifetime... or two.
Oh, the irony INDEED.

Doesn't this just SUCK?!
We're quaking in our boots. I'm not sure our generation has the grace and fortitude to pull through a Great Depression the way my Great Grandparents and Grandparents did. I'm afraid we are too entitled.
The sun is shining over here. I could use the light as I seem to have misplaced my pension. I sure I had it here a moment ago.
I so understand how you feel! To make matters worse part of that money was to be my duaghter's college fund and she will be starting in the Fall of 09.
These are hard times!
Can I join your ark?
